Importance of Drinking water

Getting enough water every day is important for your health

Most of your fluid needs are met through the water and beverages you drink.  You must drink at least six cups of water each day, and you can get some fluids through the foods that you eat – especially foods with high water content like fruits and vegetables.

*Water helps your body in many ways:

  • Water Can Help Control Calories and Keeps a normal body temperature.
  • Water Helps Energize Muscles. It Lubricates and cushions joints.
  • Water protects your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues.
  • Water helps maintain normal Bowel Function so you can get rid of the waste easily.
  • Water helps keep skin looking good and prevents dehydration.
  • Drinking water can prevent unclear thinking and mood changes.
  • Water Helps Your Kidneys. It can prevent kidney stones.
  • Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids.

*Your body needs more water when you are:

  • In hot climates.
  • More physically active or exercising.
  • Running a fever or having diarrhea or vomiting.

Of course, there are many reasons why water is the better choice. Sugary drinks can lead to weight gain and inflammation, which can increase your risk for developing diseases such as diabetes. Too much caffeine can make you tense or keep you from sleeping. This means that these beverages lead to health problems. So you should take care because it does not replace drinking water.
