The liver is the largest and one of the essential organs in the human body. As scientists said, the liver is a chemical laboratory that performs about 500 separate functions. Its purpose is to protect the body's organs and preserve their integrity.


The main functions of the liver:


  1. Purify the blood coming from the digestive system, remove toxins in it, and pass it to the rest of the body
  2. Production of bile which is responsible for the digestion of fats
  3. Regulate the production of hormones in the body
  4. Storage of sugar and control of blood sugar levels
  5. Producing cholesterol, which the body needs to make some hormones

*Autoimmune diseases of the liver:

Such as autoimmune hepatitis

Ways to avoid liver disease:

  1. Following a healthy lifestyle rich in vegetables and fruits. Avoiding fast and processed foods
  2. Maintaining personal hygiene and ensuring food is clean

  4. Taking the hepatitis C virus vaccine
  5. Ensure that medical tools are sterilized, especially before surgeries or at the dentist
  6. Avoid contact with the blood of others when cleaning
  7. Be careful when performing ear or body piercings or when making tattoos
  8. Be careful when exposed to chemicals or when spraying pesticides
  9. Avoiding harmful behaviors such as Alcohol Addiction and Drug Addiction, especially injecting drugs
